In celebration
If you're celebrating a birthday, wedding, anniversary or other special event, consider a celebration gift.
This simply means asking your guests to make a donation to Uniting instead of buying a gift for you. For birthdays or anniversaries, you could request a dollar amount to match your age or anniversary. Or, instead of flowers, chocolates or presents, ask that the equivalent amount be donated to Uniting.
Asking for donations in lieu of gifts on your special day is an incredibly thoughtful way to celebrate, whilst helping support others. You can register your event with us and we can send donation envelopes and supporting materials for you to display or distribute, or you may prefer to simply request that people make a donation directly to Uniting.
Set up a Go Fundraise page
Alternatively, you can set up a Go Fundraise page to collect donations in lieu of presents. It’s easy to do.
- Set up your own online fundraising page
- Set a target
- Personalise it with a photo and a few sentences about why you’ve decided to fundraise for Uniting
- Then simply email the link to family and friends, so they can donate directly to your page and leave messages of support and congratulations to you
